Hey, all. The book club that is reading PROTECTING ROSE,
decided to have a conversation on how they met their loves. How fun is that!
As an author, I’m always looking for material for my books. So, I thought, let’s do a blog!
If you don’t mind sharing, and if you don’t mind that it may end up in a novel, tell us...

Friends introduced us. That's the short story. I'll tell you the long one over a glass of wine. Tweeted.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! It's a date. :>)
ReplyDeleteI met my wife in the choir loft at church. We both sang tenor. Years later we admitted that at that first meeting, neither of us was impressed with the other. Thankfully, love grew into a 35 year (and still rolling) marriage.
ReplyDeleteHi, Steve. Thanks for stopping. Nice love story!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on an enduring marriage.

I met my husband, Patrick, when I was invited to a party in Milwaukee by a guy I worked with in Rockford Illinois. When I arrived at the party, my friend was talking with Pat and introduced us...and that was pretty much it.
ReplyDeleteWe had a long distance romance for about three years...then he proposed.
Funny thing is, I almost didn't make it to the party, because I couldn't find the bar. I was about to give up when I stumbled across it. Thank goodness!

Cheryl,
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea, collecting first meeting stories. We always found that question to be a great question to ask when several couples gathered for dinner, or a party, especially when there are a few strangers in the group. There's a sense of nostalgia in it, and happy memories.
Here's a short post I wrote a few years ago on my blog, Stringing Beads. It's about our first meeting. http://debmaher.com/2009/06/02/first-meeting/
We were married 38 incredible years. Thank you for letting me relive that first meeting once again. :)
