I hope you enjoy it!

Am I safe with you?
The words hung between them like an
accusation. Casey held her breath as she waited for him to answer.
“Safe enough.” Rock’s voice was low, his
eyes never wavering from hers.
Casey’s heart raced. “What does that mean?”
“It means, if you do exactly as I say,
you’ll get out of this unharmed.”
She frowned. “And if I don’t? What happens?
Will you kill me?”
Casey’s stomach did a nosedive when Rock’s
gaze narrowed. Her breath caught, and her mind filled with a jumble of questions.
What dangers did she face from him? Was he really a good guy, as she suspected?
Or should she fear him?
Rock growled. “No. I’m not going to kill
you.”
“Are you sure, because if you’re going to
kill me I guess I’d rather you do it before your buddies rape me, then kill
me.”
Did I just say that?
Casey forced her body to relax so he
wouldn’t see her nervousness. Would she ever learn to keep her mouth shut?
“No one is going to rape you . . . or kill
you,” Rock said through gritted teeth. “And they are not my buddies.”
Casey quirked a brow at his indignant tone,
barely holding back a disbelieving snicker. After all, he was the one holding
her captive.
“Then who are they? Who are you? Why am I—”
Rock reached out and placed a finger over
her lips.
Her eyes widened.
“I can’t tell you, Casey. You just need
to—”
She pushed his hand away and rolled her
eyes. “I know, trust you. You said that already. But what you didn’t say is
why? Why should I trust you?”
His expression hardened. “Because I’m the only
thing standing between you, and them.” He jerked his thumb toward the door.
She gulped. “Why don’t you just let me go?”
Her voice trembled a little.
Rock’s eyes flashed with an emotion that
looked a lot like regret.
“I’m sorry, sweetness. But I can’t do
that.”
She narrowed her eyes. “The name is Casey.
Use it.”
She liked how he called her sweetness
far too much. The way his deep voice softened, making her think of satin sheets
and sex.
Rock smiled that devastating smile. His
warm puppy eyes licked her as he ran the back of his hand gently across her
cheek. “Casey.”
Her name rolled off his tongue in a sensual
caress.
Her breath hitched and her knees went weak,
his soft touch sending tingles throughout her body.
Hell. That didn’t help.
Loved the excerpt. I can't wait to read Abducting Casey. Thanks for the teaser.
